The Shure PGA58 is an entry-level handheld dynamic microphone with cardioid polar pattern designed for vocals.

Unlike the PGA48 ( which has strong focus in presence ), the PGA58 has an overall natural response with balanced boost in presence that suits every voice type.

The natural reproduction, coupled with semi-low sensitivity of 1.97mV/Pa with cardioid pickup pattern makes it an ideal choice for onstage lead/live/backing vocals and rehearsels.

Talking about the build quality, shure has has always delivered industry standard construction that’s reliable on the long term. The PGA58 also comes with a sturdy metallic body featuring a black finish which can handle everyday abuse very well. Weighing just 294 grams/10.37oz, the mic is forgiving even if dropped accidentally.

According to some users, the mic may pick up some handling noise, but dilutes when everything mixes up. Also, due to the low sensitivity, it requires more gain than you are normally used to.
