Multipurpose live instrument microphone

The AKG Perception 3 (P3) is an entry-level, multipurpose dynamic microphone with cardioid polar pattern, designed for stage use.

Its well-suited for mid-range instruments (ex: guitar, piano, strings), backing vocals and karaoke. Coming with smooth/natural response, it also works well for people with thin/shrieky voices.

Its effective frequency bandwidth ranges from 50Hz – 13.5kHz.

The low-mids are even without any over-accentuation as seen in close-proximity vocal mics. The highs have a gentle boost in presence and brightness that sounds crisp without sounding harsh for instruments.

The overall response gives the mic a natural yet sharp tonal character.

Note that this mic has an output impedance of 600 ohms, so an audio-interface/PA with input impedance greater than 2500 ohms is advised for it.
